LESCO requires a minimum 3kW system with a 3-phase electricity connection to qualify for bi-directional net metering export.

Not usually, and anyone promising a zero bill in 2026 is working from the old rules. The NEPRA Prosumer Regulations, notified on 9 February 2026, replaced net metering with net billing for new connections: imported units are billed at the normal slab tariff, while exported units are bought back at roughly PKR 8.13 instead of the PKR 25.32 legacy rate. A well-sized system still removes most of your bill, mainly by letting you use your own generation during the day rather than by exporting. If your net metering agreement predates 9 February 2026, you keep the old rate until that contract expires.

LESCO charges a standard meter fee (approx PKR 25,000–35,000) for testing, supply, and installation of the official bi-directional green meter.
